What is West Cheshire Homes?

West Cheshire Homes is a one stop shop for people looking for a home in the Cheshire West and Chester area. If you are eligible they provide information so individuals can make the right housing choices suitable for them.

The scheme advertises social rented homes. All applicants should complete an online application form. Applicants are assessed according to their housing need, given a priority band and advised the size of home they are eligible for.

All available properties are “advertised” from Thursday lunchtime to the following Tuesday lunchtime.

Customers can apply for several properties in any one week, customers should only apply for properties they are genuinely interested.

All questions should be answered honestly, you may be excluded from the register if you have supplied false information. If you have previous rent arrears then it is possible that may be held against you.

For anyone homeless or at risk of homelessness, it is important to complete an application for social housing as one potential option for securing alternative accommodation.

The form takes about 30 minutes to compete, and information you will need to have to hand are:

  • Your national insurance number
  • A 5 year history of accommodation including post codes
  • Any medical conditions including medications
  • Any history of unspent convictions
  • Proof of children residing with you (child benefit letter in your name)
